Howscales sits in open, tranquil countryside in the heart of the unspoilt Eden valley. There are five self-contained cottages , for 2-4, around a cobbled courtyard, surrounded by gardens and open views. Cosy and well equipped, they each have their own character, retaining many original features. Howscales is near the River Eden and accessible to the many fishing opportunities in the area. Ideal base to explore the Lakes, Pennines and Hadrian’s Wall. Well behaved pets welcome, by arrangement.

Edendale Bed and Breakfast, Kirkoswald
Edendale is situated in Kirkoswald, one of the most attractive villages in the Eden Valley. We are only six miles from junction 41 on the M6. The River Eden is just outside the village and the Northern Pennines, Hadrians Wall and the Lake District are just a short drive away. We have three comfortable bedrooms all with stunning views over the valley, all en suite, centrally heated with colour televisions and tea/coofee making facilities. There is a comfortable lounge with an open fire. The village has two pubs with good food less than five minutes walk away. We serve a traditional breakfast using fresh local produce where possible. and provide packed lunchs on request.
