The club owns or rents about 14 miles of the River Eden mostly double bank. Fishing is for brown trout from 15th March to 30th September. The native stock is augmented by stocking with high quality fish from 7 inches upwards. Access is good and wading is safe in most parts of the river. The beauty of the river speaks for itself. While spinning and worming are permitted under some circumstances, fishing is largely by traditional North country wet-fly, dry-fly when there is a little colour, and in high summer at dusk with the alder or bustard.
Regulations: In all cases, Appleby Angling Association Rules apply, NRA Licence is required, no fish may be taken under NINE inches in length and the use of maggots is strictly prohibited.
